Chipotle Hummus

April is a strange month.  One day it is 80 degrees and you curse the fact that your high-rise apartment building still has the heat on full blast and it is almost impossible to sleep because it is hot and stuffy.  The next day, you are getting caught in a downpour while waiting for the bus, with only a rain coat and no umbrella so that by the time the bus finally makes it to your stop, you are wet down to the lining of your dress pants and maybe even your underwear (TMI perhaps, but it totally happened). rosy rhubarb

One of my favorite things about reading a shit-ton whole bunch of food blogs and having my own is that it makes me experiment with ingredients and try recipes that I would have never thought to make on my own.  Last year when rhubarb popped up in the market and amongst the blogs I had no idea what this fruit/vegetable thing was all about. But this year I am more experimental in my ways and I knew that I wanted to give rhubarb a try.

5.6.09 Market

Yesterday morning I got up bright and early and headed to the first Green City outdoor market of the season at 7AM. (need to also get in a run before my 1PM estates and trusts final). I had forgotten that the market opens that early, which makes me very excited because I will be able to make a quick stop during the week before Barbri. I discovered last summer that the weekday market is far less crowded and enjoyable (not that I wont still go on Saturdays as well). Continue reading
